ABOUT THE PUBLIC LECTURE

AIESEC in the University of Nairobi is holding a Public Lecture on the 8th of June 2016 from 9:30AM-12PM at the Multipurpose Hall in the 8-4-4 Building, Main Campus.

The Public lecture focuses on Africa, targeting the youth and addresses what role the region’s youth have in shaping the future of their continent.

The University of Nairobi Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Peter Mbithi has urged the University staff to embrace teamwork as their serve the University.

Speaking to Heads of Departments from the Central Units, the Vice-Chancellor noted that it’s only through teamwork that they will be able to achieve their mandate.

“Be focused. Be passionate and be ready for transformation.  We are ISO certified and we have a mandate to work, achieve and surpass the targets,’ said the Vice-Chancellor.

University Management interacts with suppliers to promote 30% Tenders Uptake.

The University management held a breakfast meeting with the suppliers in the specialized category of women, youth and persons living with disabilities in order to promote the uptake of 30% worth of tenders given to the special group.  The meeting was held at the Central Catering Unit on May, 26, 2016.

The Dean of Students department underwent an ISO audit on 15th June, 2016. The objectives of the audit were:

To establish continual improvement and conformity to the organisation's quality management system to ISO 9001:2008 for the purpose of continued certification.

To determine the ability of the system to comply to statutory, regulatory and contractual committments.

To evaluate effectiveness and continued improvement of the QMS.
The audit was a success with no non- conformities identified.

A welcome and farewell party took place on 3rd June, 2016. This initiative was organized in order to induct the 4th years into the school once again and also to send off the 1st years as they complete their first year in campus. The event was graced by the student counselors as well as the student leaders who gave various addresses at the beginning of the event. The key advice was discipline even in their fun activities.

resume their studies as follows:

The University of Nairobi (UoN) in collaboration with Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) facilitated a very engaging public lecture dubbed, ‘Oil and Gas sector in the East African region: Challenges and development’.

Guest speaker was Hon. Charles Keter, Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Energy and Petroleum. During his keynote presentation, Hon. Charles Keter, said that although oil exploration in Kenya started in the 1960s, there have not been enough capitation discussions about the Oil and gas sector in Kenya.
