University of Nairobi evaluated for 2014/2015 Performance

The University of Nairobi performance over the last 12 months during Performance Contract period 2014/2015 came under review today August 31, 2015 at Kenya Utalii Hotel, where University scored Excellence on Gender Issues.

Mr. Fred Nabea, the Independent Evaluator during the exercise noted that the University was doing very well in most of the indicators like Automation, Service Delivery, Safety Measures, Gender Mainstreaming, Corruption Eradication, among others.

The University was also congratulated for putting into good use the income generated from internal sources by building the iconic tower.

Other measures that were being looked into include the allocation of 30% worth of tenders to the special groups – Youth, Women and Persons with Disabilities, Service Delivery Innovations, repairs and maintenance, complaints resolution among others.

Speaking during the exercise, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Peter Mbithi congratulated the Performance Contract Secretariat for preparing the required evidence for the exercise. The PC team was led by Prof. Isaac Mbeche, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Student Affairs.

Also present during the evaluation exercise include the following: Registrar Administration, Dr. Dismas Bulinda, ICTC Director, Mr. Ibrahim Otieno, Deputy Finance Officers, Mr. Patric Agutu and Peter Busienei, Mr. Peter Muturi, Public Relations Manager, Mr. Leonard Musyoka, Ms. Damaris Kavoi, Head of Budgetary Control Unit among others.
