RECENT ACTIVITIES

 

  1. SWEARING IN OF SONU OFFICIALS

The swearing in ceremony of elected SONU officials took place on Saturday 27, April 2013 at the Chancellor’s Court. The officials were sworn in by the Chief Legal Officer.

  1. STUDENT AFFAIRS MANAGEMENT BOARD MEETING

The Student Affairs Management Board held its first meeting of the year on 15th May 2013. Among the items on the agenda was the report on the successful 2013 SONU election and the Strategic Plan for the Student Affairs Division.

  1.       SWEARING IN OF SONU SECRETARIAT

The new SONU Secretariat members were sworn in on May 16, 2013 at Council Chamber, main campus. The ceremony was graced by Prof. I.M. Mbeche, who is the Deputy Vice-Chancellor in charge of Student Affairs who congratulated the new office bearers and urged them to work towards ensuring that the SONU leadership executes its mandate satisfactorily.

UPCOMING EVENTS

  1. ELECTION OF SONU SPEAKER

The election of the SONU Speaker will take place on Saturday 18th May 2013 at Upper Kabete Campus from 2.00 p.m. All candidates are wished well.

  1. FIRST YEARS REGISTRATION AND ORIENTATION

First year students will be reporting on Monday 20th May 2013. Its all systems go for the units under the Student Affairs Division namely; Dean of Students office, Student Welfare Authority, Sports and Games and University Health Services. The students who have secured Univesity accommondation will be assisted to settle down in the Halls of Residence by the Halls Officers stationed in each campus.

The office of the Dean of Students, Sports and Games and University Health Services will also be at hand to receive the new students and enlighten them on the services they offer, in order to nurture the students wellbeing outside the classroom environment.  Under the office of the Dean of Students, the students will be informed of the counselling services, organisations and clubs that are available for them to join as well as the chaplainacy services for their spiritual nourishement.

The Sports and Games Department will enlighten the students on the various sports and games available in the University as well as the sports facilities at their disposal which will help them develop their sporting talents.

The Division wishes to welcome all the first years and wish them a fruitful stay at the University.
